FIRST EXPERIMENT WITH ALGINATE CRYO MASK...
Greetings, beauty holics! In this post, I will share my impressions of using an alginate mask, I have never tried it before, and so I decided to experiment. And I will conclude whether this kind of masks is really more effective than my favorite and familiar fabric masks.
As you know, I'm a big fan of Korean cosmetics in general, and their fabric masks in particular. But since I now have inflammation and redness on my skin, I decided to look for some kind of mask that is more powerful in its effect, specifically for this problem. As a result of searching and reading reviews, I chose an ALGINATE CRYO MASK WITH MENTHOL AND SPIRULINA from the Russian brand MASKOHOLIC.
The whole set consists of a jar with the mask itself, i.e. turquoise powder, which must be diluted with cool water (2 measuring cups of powder + 2 measuring cups of water), a measuring cup and a spatula for applying to the face (conveniently, they are already included).
What is an alginate mask anyway? It is a powder of sodium alginate, which is obtained from red and brown seaweed. In addition, the mask can be enriched with other skin-friendly elements, in this case menthol and spirulina. Making a mask, as it turned out, is very simple: in a 2/2 ratio, mix the powder and water until smooth, it turns out to be quite thick, apply with a spatula to clean facial skin and leave for 30 minutes. It is important to apply a thick layer so that the hardened mask can be easily removed. I applied it to problem areas with rashes (cheeks), chin and forehead. After application, a distinct menthol scent is immediately felt, and the skin feels cold. Gradually, the mask itself dries out and tightens the skin, but without unpleasant sensations.
I had doubts about how easy it would be to remove the mask from my face, but in reality there were no problems, I hooked it with my finger under my chin and it came off in one layer. If there are small scales of the mask or pieces left somewhere, then you can clean it with a wet cotton pad. What I saw after the mask: the skin looks fresher, the tone is leveled, the skin is smoother, but at the same time it is a little dried, so a moisturizing cream is necessary. Regarding redness and irritation, unfortunately, I did not see any effect, the manufacturer promised that the mask would remove inflammation and relieve redness, but this did not happen to me. The volume of the powder jar is quite large, you can make a lot of masks, conduct a course, so to speak. But at the moment when I am writing this review, I have already done this alginate mask three times, and the impressions have not changed. There is also no effect on irritated skin to reduce redness. As a result, I can call the ALGINATE MASK from MASKOHOLIK a worthy product, it is not bad, but still it did not cope with the primary task of combating inflammation. And I can get smooth skin and a fresher look even after using fabric masks. I didn't see much difference in effectiveness between the types of masks, rather, I prefer the fabric masks that are familiar to me, in addition to soothing the skin, they also nourish it, while in alginate the opposite effect is drying (well, at least this mask that I tested). I will definitely not repeat this alginate mask.
Thank you for your attention!
