SVETLOGORSK (RAUSCHEN) : healing air, pines, villas...

Hi, everyone! Let me show you a beuatiful small city on the coast of Baltic Sea, which was firstly a part of Prussia (Germany) and was famous medical resort, and after became a part of Kaliningradskaya oblast (Russia). The name of this cute wonderful city is Rauschen (german version) or Svetlogorsk (russian version).

I already wrote a post of another city here in region, with same history, it also was a part of Prussia , german resort on Baltic Sea, and after 1947 became russian city Zelenogradsk, see post HERE.

Svetlogorsk has it's own unique atmosphere. As well as Zelenogradsk, it is located on Baltic sea coast,  but besides the sea the uniqueness of this city is great amount of coniferous trees such as pine, spruce. It even can be called "city in the forest". This is the reason of clean and healing air . Besides the Baltic Sea in Svetlogorsk there is Tikhoe (Silent) Lake , it deserves to walk around the lake, there is very relaxing and calm atmosphere...

Symbol of Sveltogorsk, the main famous building , that you can see on all local souvenirs is Water Tower (on the photo below) . Also I highly recommend you to walk around, on the streets near city center, and see old and new villas, some of them are hotels, another - private houses. All these buildings are so cute, and creates unique architectural style of Svetlogorsk. Together with Baltic sea view, clean air, cafes/restaurants with delicious local kitchen it will impress you very much!

 

So, if you have such opportunity to travel to Kaliningradskay oblast , I strongly recommend you to visit these two amasing resorts - Zelenogradsk and Svetlogorsk! I'm absolutely sure that you will love them and have wonderful memories after this trip.
